Я розумію, як інколи складно мобілізувати себе та взятися за роботу. Для того, щоб оволодіти мовою, ви вивчаєте граматику, нові слова, читаєте, пишете, говорите та слухаєте.

Вивчення будь якої іноземної мови складається в основному із розвитку чотирьох основних навиків: читання, письма, говоріння та слухання. Коли я була студентом, то завжди вважала слухання нудним, оскільки воно не захоплювало і не мотивувало.
На сьогоднішній день дуже популярним є вивчення англійської мови з допомогою інтернет-ресурсів. Подкастинг (podcasting) – яскравий приклад того, як можна весело, корисно та актуально розвивати навики слухання у студентів.

21 st-century lifestyles

1. bona fide /’bəʊnə ‘faɪdi/ real, true, and not intended to deceive anyone: Only bona fide members are allowed to use the club pool.
2. get away from it all to have a relaxing holiday: You need to get away from it all for a couple of weeks.
3. hold-up [countable]
1 a situation that stops something from happening or making progress
ᅳsynonym delay // traffic hold-ups on the highway // Despite the odd hold-up, we finished on time.
2 informal an attempt to rob a place or person by threatening them with a weapon: a bank hold-up
4. mundane / mʌn’deɪn /
1 ordinary and not interesting or exciting: Initially, the work was pretty mundane.
2 literary concerned with ordinary daily life rather than religious matters // ᅳsynonym worldly
5. obesity / əʊ’biːsiti $ oʊ- / [uncountable] when someone is very fat in a way that is unhealthy
6. sedentary /’sedenteri/
1 formal spending a lot of time sitting down, and not moving or exercising very much
sedentary life/job/lifestyle etc: health problems caused by our sedentary lifestyles
2 technical a sedentary group of people tend always to live in the same place: a sedentary people living north of the Danube
7. strain / streɪn /
1 ▶WORRY◀ [uncountable and countable]worry that is caused by having to deal with a problem or work too hard over a long period of time: Did you find the job a strain? strain for: The trial has been a terrible strain for both of us.
strain on: It's quite a strain on me when he's drinking heavily. // put/place a strain on somebody: The long working hours put a severe strain on employees. // under (a) strain: I know you've been under a lot of strain lately.
